Mr Lai Ah Keow

Theme: Business & Team Excellence – Yokogawa’s Story

Mr Lai recently retired as Mentor Emeritus at Yokogawa Electric Asia. Under his leadership, Yokogawa earned several prestigious awards and recognition from industry peers. Some of these accolades include: the 4th Manufacturing Excellence Awards in 2010 and the Singapore Quality Award (SQA) in 2011 from SPRING Singapore.

Yokogawa Singapore was incorporated locally in 1974. Over the years, the company has inculcated quality assurance, continual innovation and constant improvement into its culture. Yokogawa Singapore’s expertise has since been recognized as a “Centre of Excellence”, serving as the region’s headquarters to better enhance the Group’s global business strategy and to better meet the individual market needs of the region.

Mr Lai is also a member onboard the SQA Management Committee engaged by Enterprise Singapore in reviewing the award criteria and shortlisting award applicants.

Mr Charles Aubrey
Chairman, Asia Pacific Quality Organisation, Advisor Committee

Theme: The Role of Excellence in Leapfrogging the Competition

Charles is currently Chairman of the Asia Pacific Quality Organization Advisory Committee. In addition, Charles is a Board Member of the International Academy for Quality and is on the staff of the Juran Institute and Harrington Institute. He recently retired as Vice President of AndersonBrecon Pharmaceutical a subsidiary of Fortune 500 AmerisourceBergen Corporation.

Charles has received numerous international accolades in recognition for his extensive quality contributions, including: (i) the 2006 Harrington/Ishikawa Medal, the 2007 Shanghai Magnolia Quality Contribution Award, (iii) Founders Medal of International Academy for Quality in 2009, (iv) 2010 Yoshio Kondo Academic Research Prize Medal, (v) the ASQ Lancaster Medal in 2011

Mr Harnek Singh
President, Asia Pacific Quality Organization

Theme: Enabling Productivity and Innovation through Teams

Mr Harnek Singh is currently President of the Asia Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO) and recently retired as Director, Business Excellence at ST Engineering Ltd. Harnek is also concurrently serving as Honorary Secretary to the Singapore Productivity Association and Chairs the Public Service (PS21) Service Excellence Awards Committee.

Harnek is a Singapore Business Excellence (BE) Initiative Lead Assessor, a Baldrige trained & Global Performance Excellence Award Examiner, having led many BE assessments. Harnek is also regularly involved as an International Assessor and technical expert with the Asian Productivity Organisation, having trained BE Assessors and Consultants both locally and regionally (e.g. Sri Lanka, Qatar, Fiji, Philippines, Iran, Pakistan).

Ms Radha Yogendran
Retired Principal Assessor, SPRING Singapore

Theme: Managing Teams for Business Excellence

With 35 years of service with the productivity board of Singapore from 1982 to 2017, Radha Nair has served in various capacities and brings to the forefront, her vast experience and deep knowledge in administering Productivity Schemes and the Business Excellence (BE) Initiative to every sector of the economy.

Most recently, Radha served as a Principal Assessor with the Business and Service Excellence Division of SPRING Singapore (currently Enterprise Singapore). Over a 10-year period, Radha was selected, trained and developed more than 500 Business Excellence (BE) assessors and personally mentored many to be team leaders. Radha was also responsible for the development of training materials to educate and equip assessors for their roles in conducting assessments effectively and in preparing actionable feedback reports.
